That;
just because you have sex, doesn’t make you a slut.
Just because you stand up for yourself, doesn’t make you a bitch.
Just because you’re confident, doesn’t make you conceited.
Just because you’re young, doesn’t mean you can’t fall in love.
So stop fucking judging.
I completely relate to this. I’m a...

I decided to combine these two, because a hobby of mine is baking and I made a delicious lemon meringue pie yesterday! Yum yum.

3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups water
2 lemons, juiced and zested

Dear "Tea Party Patriots"
dearmeat:
You backwards, ignorant, racist, whining hicks are the reason why I cannot take pride in my nation; you make me embarrassed to be an American. You shame the very flag that you hold aloft. Under the guise of a cause, you take to the streets chanting curses at those who provide you with the very freedom you take for granted. You do not deserve the ground you walk on. -A once proud...

Day 19: A Talent Of Yours
I am very good at arguing. And this can be a problem. Because I am also very opinionated. And if you say something I disagree with (no matter who you are) I almost always end up arguing with you.
And that’s bad! Because I turn people away and they get scared of me. Because I’m ruthless and while I try to be respectful I am also super sarcastic. It’s a bad habit.

Dear Meat: Dear Communist; →
Look, all I’m saying is that it’s impolite to give a girl nine orgasms in one night and then never mention it again, even if it’s just to say “Well that was nice, but let’s not do that again.” Hell, I’d even take a “That was terrible and I wish to never see you again.” I’m down with taking down the hetero-normative paradigm and the demolition of the monogamous-ownership one as well, but a girl...

It would be really awesome if — oh, I don’t know — the ocean was still around in a few years, so FUCKING FIGURE THIS SHIT OUT. Waiting, Humans.

This Post Makes Me Feel Young
“Nothing has produced more unhappiness than the concept of a soul mate.” - Atlanta psychiatrist Frank Pittman
So basically we live in a place that tells us that we have to love one person. And only one person. And we have to love them forever and if we don’t we messed up and did something wrong and our lives are very sad and we’re pathetic. And the only way to be happy...

Day 13: A Fictional Book
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer
This is the book I’m currently reading, chronicling the adventures of a boy who lost his father in the 9/11 tragedy. I love the way Foer writes - it’s both intelligent and visually breathtaking. All of his characters seem incredibly real and emotionally layered. Maybe I’ll recap more fully my thoughts when I finish.

Arizona bans ethnic studies in public schools →
american-apologies:
From CNN:
“The new law forbids elementary or secondary schools to teach classes that are ‘designed primarily for pupils of a particular ethnic group’ and advocate ‘the overthrow of the United States government’ or ‘resentment toward a race or class of people.’”
Hmm, it makes you wonder, why would anyone have any resentment towards privileged whites who have historically...

– Sylvia Plath. Day 05: Favorite Quote.
me: Do you feel like you're in a relationship?
Like, day to day?
Ross: Yes, I do.
me: Why? Like, what makes you feel like that?
Ross: Honestly? It's mostly the fact that you've said goodnight to me almost every night for the past two years.
That's caring, and it keeps me going through my day when I'm feeling down.

Day 04: Favorite Book
This is a tough one. I’m a huge reader and there are many books that have helped me look at the world differently. I don’t like to think that I have a favorite, because so many are so wonderful in different ways. A small list of some of the best:
Catch-22 by Joseph Heller. This book was so clever, so beautiful, and so tragic all at once. I was confronted with mortality and my...
